Chicago Dog Boarding

Background: I have been a pet owner/lover my entire life. My first job was working at a boarding/ daycare facility and walking puppies. We raised and bred German Shepherds and often had a litter of puppies around. I’ve always had a cat or a dog, or multiples, and have extensive experience with senior pets.

Our last best buddy Jester was with us for 14 wonderful years, moved into the West Bucktown neighborhood with us in 2006, and crossed the rainbow bridge 8/16/19.

Our Dog Shadow

In late 2019 we adopted another Australian Cattle Dog mix to the family. He is loving his teenage years, holding steady at 58 lbs., and stealing hearts all across the neighborhood with his winning smile and ability to fit into any lap, even though he’s full grown.

Shadow can get easily overwhelmed in strange places, around a lot of dogs, etc. but once he meets a dog one-on-one in a safe setting, he can quickly warm up to them and welcome them to come for sleepovers and share our love.

The ideal scenario is we “meet on a walk”, sniff some butts, and after a few minutes move it to the front yard where our Astroturf offers up unlimited zoomies, wrestle playtime, people watching, or just lounging in the sun. If your dog doesn’t want to play, Shadow is respectful of quieter dogs if that is their preference, but he really-really-really wants to play all day once he gets to know you.
